We are fortunate to collaborate with a number of academic partners both in the UK and abroad and work closely with academic colleagues and the Affinity team to ensure that our research is both internationally relevant and is of direct benefit for employees, manager, employers and professional bodies. Our own personal research is focused on tackling the challenges faced within work, health and wellbeing while our supervision across the Professional Doctorate allows us to collaborate in research across the field – from evaluating inclusive talent management programmes to examining the barriers and facilitators for women seeking company board positions. Our research applies psychology to solving problems in the workplace. Jo Yarker and Rachel Lewis work in a job share arrangement – their research, supervision and professional achievements are a shared endeavour. Jo and Rachel are also Directors of Affinity Health at Work, a thriving consultancy and research group. Together, Jo and Rachel have developed the innovative Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology and MRes in Professional Practice in Occupational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London designed to engage practitioners in evidence-based practice and supervise practice-led research across the field. Rachel works in a job share arrangement with Dr Jo Yarker. Her work focuses on understanding how those working in inherently stressful and difficult occupations and job roles, continue to do what they do.

Rachel is an award winning registered occupational psychologist, specialising in work, health and well-being.
